WSOP Madness!

Sorry for the lack of recent updates – I’ve been in the middle of the WSOP grind!

So far I’ve played in 5 events and cashed in 3.  Not a bad record, but I havn’t  been able to go on a deep run once I’m in the money.  This is quite frustrating for a number of reasons.  First off once you get in the money stacks are normally so short that there isn’t a whole ton of skill left. And add this to the top-heavy prize pool payouts and you have to get lucky to make any serious money.  I’ve planning on playing in the $2500 8-game tournament tonight and hopefully I can make something happen.  I should have a big edge in this event as very few people are competent in every game.  I’m really looking forward to it!

Beside that I’ve played some 25/50/100NL at the Bellagio and some 100/200 PLO.  I’m about a 20k loser in the 25/50/100 game in limited action.  The game is very good at times with some rich amateurs coming in and mixing it up but you have to wade through countless hours of playing with nitty pros while waiting for these amateurs.  Most of the time I’d rather multi-table online.  In the 100/200PLO game I’ve broken about even – I played a fun hand where I get it all in a 60k pot with AA93 vs Sammy Fahras QQ3d2d and 5587 on AQ5r (with the 5 of diamonds).   The turn brought the Ad giving me quads but the river brought the 4d giving Sammy a striaght flush.  Sick!

Non-playing wise I’ve been writing and co-hosting a new pokernews show called “The Poker Industry” (with Jessa Hilton) that is going to be airing weekly on www.twoplustwo.com.  This show features interviews from some of the top players in the world – watch out for both Observer84 and Durrrr on early episodes along  with advanced strategy from some of the top poker minds in the world – FoxwoodFeinds, Keith Gipson, Odonkor1 etc. etc.  In addition to this it will also recap weekly poker news, and have some of the hottest models on the planet!  What more could you ask for.
