Four years ago I was sitting in a friendís basement, playing some .25/.50 poker and shooting some bullshit with my friends while watching Chris Moneymaker win the 2004 WSOP when I thought, ìWouldnít this be a cool way to make a living?î. And a dream was born.
Since then poker has made me a millionaire. Iíve made (and am making) more money than I ever thought possible. But Iím starting to wonder, ìDid I have the right dream?î
I am a firm believer that humans are creatures of habit. Success and happiness are achieved by forming good habits and carrying them out on a daily, weekly and yearly basis. As Arositle put it, ì”We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit.”.
I returned to college at the start of this semester and letís say that didnít exactly pan out ?. I decided to return to college after a depressing run at the poker tables (I made exactly $0 in Janurary-April from poker this year), which made me question my life choices and diversify my life. Before the semester started I worked tirelessly on my poker game, doing a lot of thinking about the game and consulting with my friends about poker theory. Immediately, I noticed many leaks in my game which I quickly plugged and soon enough found my results vastly improving.
