Playing your A game and life as a poker robot ñ

ìThere is no mind so machine like that you can depend upon it to function with equal efficiency at all timesî ñ Reminiscences of a Stock Operator

I have played more hands of poker over the past three years than almost any other individual. At times Iíve played unbelievable poker.I have perfectly narrowed down my opponents hand range by street, having their exact hand range pegged by river. This has lasted for whole sessions, whole weeks even a whole month.During these time frames Iíll be in everyone of my opponentís heads knowing how they will react to bets on every street of every size and I can trick them to making mistakes. The money pours in.

Main Event and After

07*14*08

I busted from the main event during the last level of day 2. †I’m pretty disappointed with my performance, as I feel I didn’t feel that I play my best poker. †I played my A-game for the first few levels each day but I feel as fatigued and laziness kicked in and I made some missteps. †I eventually ended up making a bad river call for most of my chips. †Given the betting action I felt that my opponent could only have the nuts and if it was online I almost surely would of folded. But a series of physical reads led me to believe my opponent was bluffing but in retrospect I realize that he was doing some Hollywood style acting and I can’t believe I fell for it.†

Recent Media Appearances

Tomorrow I will be playing in my first Main Event at the World Series. †I am very excited and prepared for a long, but exciting day. †I have been playing a lot of online poker the past few weeks with a few tournaments mixed in, but no cashes or interesting stories. †I wish that I had a few more results, but making an ESPN final table was a dream come true and hopefully I will get another shot soon to win my first bracelet. †

Something that I am very excited and proud about are a few articles where I was featured and mentioned. †Michael Kaplan wrote a great piece that features a few fellow online players in Cigar Aficionado. †It is a very interesting article about Tom “Durrr” Dwan, Alan “TheUsher” Sass, Luke Kim, and myself. †It is the issue with Kevin Costner on the cover. †It is pretty cool to be photographed and featured in a major magazine like this.

I am also mentioned in a New York Times article that can be seen here http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/29/fashion/29bets.html †It is another well written article by Michael Kaplan about prop bets. †My bathroom prop bet with Jay is discussed and a Pepsi vs. Coke challenge Luke and Nick did at my place was also mentioned. †I never thought I would †be written about in the New York Times, so thatís pretty cool. †

CardPlayer came by my condo a few weeks ago and filmed High Stakes Living. †It was released last Friday and can be seen at www.cardplayer.com. <http://www.cardplayer.com/tv> †††††

†I am going to rest up and will have live updates from Day 1c at the WSOP tomorrow.
