I busted from the main event during the last level of day 2. †I’m pretty disappointed with my performance, as I feel I didn’t feel that I play my best poker. †I played my A-game for the first few levels each day but I feel as fatigued and laziness kicked in and I made some missteps. †I eventually ended up making a bad river call for most of my chips. †Given the betting action I felt that my opponent could only have the nuts and if it was online I almost surely would of folded. But a series of physical reads led me to believe my opponent was bluffing but in retrospect I realize that he was doing some Hollywood style acting and I can’t believe I fell for it.†
The day after busting out of the main event, I went to dinner at Okada at the Wynn then to Tryst to celebrate Isaac “Mr. Menlo” Baron’s 21st birthday. †About twenty poker players drunkenly descended on Tryst and proceeded to order and outrageous number of bottles and start a no girls allowed dance party. †Then the hostesses brought out bottle after bottle accompanied by sparklers and dozens of girls appeared out of nowhere. †Much hilarity ensued throughout the night, but I got a little too drunk to recall most of it. †At dinner I challenged my friend Justin to make a bet where we would put up money than make draft picks on who was going to get kicked out of the club first. †Sadly, Justin declined as my first pick, Isaac ended up being tossed first. †A deal (a sufficient bribe) was arranged to get him back in the club but as the bouncer opened the velvet ropes to let him back in he unleashed a verbal tirade on the bouncer (which can’t even be published here J) and was escorted off the premise. †
†
It took me the whole next day to recover and around 9pm I finally rolled out of bed. †I then wandered over to my neighbors Luke Kim’s apartment <http://lukekim.blogspot.com/> and did the “Coke-Pepsi” Challenge vs. stevesbets. †We gave Steve 2:1 odds that he couldn’t tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi in a blind taste test (he had to get 10 out of 10 cups right). †Luke and I had already got a few poker players with this hustle and I was expecting another easy victory, but Steve ended up winning. †As a side note Steve is quite a character. †He has ran up his full tilt account to over 500k three times in the past year and a half only to bust it all three times. †Talk about a degenerate!
Afterwards, Steve and Luke headed to the Wynn for dinner and Luke text me saying there was a 100/100NL game full of people he didn’t recognize. †And let me tell you nothing gets me excited like a high stakes poker game with unfamiliar faces! I wasn’t disappointed when I booked a $45,000 win, followed by a $40,000 win in the same game the next day. †This was quite a relief for me as I’ve had a horrendous WSOP before this (despite my cash in the 5k Mixed) and despite putting in a TON of hours June was my first losing month in over a year (Mostly due to running terrible at 200/400NL online). †It looked like I was in danger of having back-to-back losing months before I booked those two solid sessions. †
I plan on leaving Vegas for a short vacation within the next week to take some time off poker and reflect on life. †In my next blog, I want to share some of my thoughts on life as a professional poker player.

Andrew,
One thing I have always enjoyed about reading your blog is your apparent honesty. Did you really win 85k in two sessions?
