Making Money I am balla $$$$$$.

04*2*08

Four years ago I was sitting in a friendís basement, playing some .25/.50 poker and shooting some bullshit with my friends while watching Chris Moneymaker win the 2004 WSOP when I thought, ìWouldnít this be a cool way to make a living?î. And a dream was born.

Since then poker has made me a millionaire. Iíve made (and am making) more money than I ever thought possible. But Iím starting to wonder, ìDid I have the right dream?î

Remember when you were a kid and youíd talk to your friends about whatíd you do if you won the lottery? Most likely your dream included, a mansion, Lamborghini, private jet and lots of other toys (what they). Well Iíve met people who have all of these toys and on average they are just as insecure, unhappy and unfulfilled as those without them (of course many extremely wealthy people are also extremely happy but I donít think itís because of the toys) .

Now Iím not trying to sound holier-than thou. I love my car, my condo and having maids and assistants but I feel money should be means to an end; not an end in itself (which I feel it becomes for many gamblers).
With all that said Iím not leaving the poker world anytime soon. On any given day my If I had the choice (which I suppose I do), to do anything I wanted poker would be first on that list.

Iím not really sure where Iím going with this thought process. I guess Iíve just been thinking about what I want to do with my life when the least on my condo ends after the WSOP. Do I want to become the next Doyle Bruson or Chip Reese? Or is there another path in life I could take that would make me happier? Iíd love to hear any constructive suggestionsÖ.

For now youíll either find me sitting at my computer screen with 8 tables open or in Bobbyís RoomÖ.

Andrew, I have been having fun reading your blog and keeping up with your adventures! I am so happy that you have reached your dream, even tho it isn’t a traditional one for our family! (not that we are a traditional family!!!) Maybe you just need to realize that money is a tool and how u use it will help you find happiness!!!! And the dream can evolve and change! We love you and are glad you are having a good time but just remember, even in the land of excess, MODERATION is key!!!! And since one of your biggest fan clubs are your cousins, could you set up a G rated blog we can share with them!!!!!!!!!
